A NEW WAVE OF FOLK MUSIC
Vince Cayo and Lewis Pugh bring their own respective folk stylings up from West Yorkshire to Falkirk's Rock Bottom on the 14th of November, as part of their short November tour of England and Scotland.
About the artists:
VINCE CAYO is an up-and-coming folk singer out of the Aire Valley of West Yorkshire.
Vince cut his teeth on the roads of Ireland, Europe and the USA in his teens, taking his punk rock roots to the travelling folk singing circuit and gradually honing his folk sound year by year.
Over the years he would release two albums and tour Europe and the UK on several occasions, sharing stages with the likes of Days N Daze, Jesse Ahern, Street Dogs and The Rumjacks.
Following a few years off pursuing other musical interests, Vince Cayo returned to solo action in 2024 with the release of a new single "Atomic Veteran Blues".
A new album is now underway with release planned for early 2026
"Sound like Tom Waits lashing it up with Shane MacGowan"
LEWIS PUGH is a prolific songwriter with influences ranging from bluegrass, country, folk through to skiffle and punk.
Brought up going to bluegrass and folk festivals with his family who were often performing, such as Cambridge Folk Festival and Edale Bluegrass Festival, Lewis' appreciation of roots music came at a young age. After playing in countless punk and metal bands from age of 12 until 26, Lewis gradually shifted back to the music of his upbringing. Self-releasing his first solo album in 2017, he has since released 'Dark Wheels turn Above Our Heads' in 2020 and 'Bullets for Bread' in 2024, finding a sound between country, folk and bluegrass with a distinct political slant. In between albums there have been countless singles & EP's, often raising money for homeless outreaches or food banks.
