About this Event
Second concert of the 2025 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series featuring Okan.
The 2025 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series presents Okan with opening band Ocala Steel Orchestra on Friday, March 21 from 6-8 pm. at Webb Field at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex, 1501 W Silver Springs Blvd. Enjoy a free performance featuring Afro-Cuban Jazz music that’ll have you tapping your feet all night.
Feel free to bring your own chairs or blankets to the concert lawn and relax while enjoying the show! Local non-profits and food trucks will be on site. This week’s food trucks include Country Boyz Bbq, The Dancing Empanada, This Fruta Grill & Healthy Colombian Food Truck, Sour Mouth Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, and Kona Ice. There will also be fun field games and activities with Ocala Recreation and Parks.
Each concert in the series features an intermission performance by a local non-profit organization working in our community; this week’s featured non-profit is Arts in Health Ocala Metro.
Along with the non-profit spotlight, each concert will also have live painting by local artists. The painting will be part of a new community art project—a paint-by-numbers style mural for the awning of the Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) at Brick City Center for the Arts. The public is invited to help the artists paint this awning during the concerts.

HEADLINING ARTIST: Okan
Okan is a Canadian Afro-Cuban jazz group that fuses rich cultural influences with an innovative sound. Core members Elizabeth Rodriguez and Magdelys Savigne, both former members of Jane Bunnett’s Maqueque, formed Okan in 2017. The duo’s 2020 album Espiral earned them the Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year, a title they reclaimed in 2024 with their album Okantomi. With a captivating blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz, Okan continues to push musical boundaries, performing as both a duo and with a full ensemble. Their powerful performances have earned them widespread acclaim, making them a must-see act on the world stage.
