About this Event

Or perhaps you’ve captured large amounts of data on your sales, process, or customers, and want to realise the benefit of this data?
South of Scotland Enterprise, in collaboration with Data Understood, is hosting four workshops at Hawick Business Centre on how you can leverage artificial intelligence and data to take your business to the next level.
When you sign up, you will be signing up for all four workshops on the following dates and times.

First workshop – Friday 22 November, 9am to 1pm
In the introductory workshop, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how emerging technologies, such as AI and digital transformation, can drive business value and impact industries.
Using Data Understood’s DIAlog platform, we will guide attendees through their digital transformation journey by evaluating and leveraging individual perspectives on innovation and technology.
DIAlog’s personalized profiles will help simplify complex concepts, offering practical insights into business initiatives, including AI adoption readiness, data and AI integration, personalised AI upskilling, and fostering data-driven decision-making.
This interactive session will also encourage participants to share their experiences, setting the stage for deeper engagement in the upcoming workshops.
Second workshop – Friday 13 December, 9am to 1pm
The second workshop will concentrate on strategy, providing the knowledge and processes necessary to set your business goals related to data and AI. You'll also learn about the importance of metrics in measuring these goals.
Third workshop – Friday 24 January, 9am to 1pm
Our third workshop will build on the previous one, offering a practical review of AI tools and platforms that can meet each participant's strategic needs. We will demonstrate tools likely to benefit most attendees and provide information on other useful AI tools, focusing where possible on free and open-source options or tools with free tiers.
Fourth workshop – Wednesday 12 February, 12noon to 4pm
The fourth and final workshop will combine everything we’ve learned, allowing participants to assess the internal capabilities needed for successful AI implementation.
We will share successes and challenges and explore commercial opportunities with advanced AI and data use.
The session will conclude with a methodology for implementing an AI and data strategy and designing a mechanism to evaluate its effectiveness.
All attendees will be asked to complete a survey in advance.
After completing the workshops, an online webinar will be held in March 2025 for attendees to address any follow-up questions.
These workshops will be delivered by data and analytics experts Data Understood, and will be delivered by Managing Director Inez Hogarth (MSc in Applied Statistics & Datamining, MPhys in Theoretical Physics).
Data Understood has over a decade experience delivering data and AI-related workshops, with a focus on data-driven solutions that drive business impacts.
