Been dancing for a while and are curious about moving up to Level 2? This special class will be aimed a giving you a taste of what to expect - it will be pitched about halfway between our regular Level 1 and 2 classes so that you can try it out and then chat to us after class if you're interested in joining our regular Level 2 class. In order to do this class you should have been dancing with us for at least 4 months on a regular basis. If you're pretty new to dancing then this might be too hard for you just now, but don't worry, we'll do this class again in the future.
If after doing this class you want to move up to Level 2, here's what you'll need to know:
- Please speak to Andy or Jo before joining a Level 2 class. We'll get you to do a test with one of us to see how you're going, and let you know if we think you're ready or if you need a bit more practice first.
- You MUST keep doing Level 1 AND 2 for at least 6 months, this is because you'll still need to practice and reinforce your basics as we don't teach those in Level 2.
- In Level 2 we expect you to know the basic footwork for 8-beat, 6-beat and Charleston, and be comfortable with classic moves like the swing out, tuck turn, inside and outside turn and the pass by.
- Level 2 classes focus more on correct technique, explore connection and partnering concepts, and also feature more complex moves.
6.30pm - Level 1 class
7.45pm - Level Up class
$20 for one class or $30 for both
No partner required, just come and pay on the door
After class we'll head over the road to the Treehouse Hotel for a well earned drink - everyone is welcome to join us there :-)
