About this Event
COURSE CONTENT

This qualification will provide you with an understanding of the principles of end of life care, including knowledge of:

  • Defining and understanding end of life care.
  • Approaches to, and the importance of, communication during end of life care.
  • Assessment and care planning in end of life care.
  • Person-centred approaches to end of life care and how to support a person’s familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs.
  • Care during the final hours of life.
  • Bereavement care and how to confront issues of death and bereavement.

Successful completion of this qualification will help to support progression into and within a number of job roles within the health and social care sector.


This is an online self-study course, allowing the flexibility to study at a time and pace to suit yourself. There is no exam for this qualification however, you will need to complete a series of written assignments, which will be submitted to and marked by your on-line personal tutor.

Students will work towards an NCFE CACHE qualification at level 3.

This course will be fully funded for anyone who meets one of the following conditions:

  1. You are 19 or over and don’t yet have a FIRST FULL Level 3 qualification (Equivalent to A levels / Technical certificate or Diploma)
  2. You are over 19 or over and are currently unemployed and in receipt of a means tested benefit
  3. You are 19 or over and are currently employed but earning less than £20,319 per year or £22,500 in CPCA


For anyone who does not meet these conditions the cost for this course is £811.00. Learners may be eligible to apply for an advanced learner loan
