This course covers a range of first aid emergencies and how to deal with them, enabling learners to qualify to the level of Emergency First Aid at Work. Learners will be able to administer Emergency First Aid in the workplace meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course is recognised by OfQual at level 3.At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
Deal with an unconscious casualty
Carry out resuscitation (CPR)
Control bleeding and manage shock
Deal with minor injuries
Deal with burns
Understand responsibilities and reporting
Use and maintain first aid kits
Deal with a suspected spinal injury
Understand the protocol when it comes to head injuries and return to play after concussion
Format / duration
The course is usually delivered over 1 day (6 hours which includes a lunch break).
