Level 1 Pre-requisites: This training course will focus on how to teach pole as well as perfecting your technique. The course does not teach you "how" to pole. In order to succeed with this pole instructor course, you should already be comfortable with basic spins (fireman variations, hook spins, chair spin), and a basic climb. TOTAL Tuition: $599 (Split payment arrangement available online)

* 12hr Training/November 16th & 17th 11am - 5pm
*3hrs/3 Classes - Shadow & Assist another pole instructor, acceptable at any Vertical Pole Studio location. Class registration is required, register just as if you were a regular student. You may shadow and assist during ANY level of pole classes for your 3 hours of shadowing and assisting classes. To graduate with your class on Saturday, November 23rd, you must shadow and assist classes between the dates of Monday, November 18th - Saturday, November 23rd, 2024.
*3hrs/3 Lessons - You will write and email 3 class curriculum plans appropriate for Level 1, based on the format you have learned during training. DEADLINE to email lesson plans is Wednesday, November 20th at 5pm. After reviewing your written lessons, we will email you back a lesson plan, that you will then teach live to your class on Saturday, November 23rd.
*4hrs/ November 23rd Solo Teach Live Class, attend 2 other trainees solo teaching their live class (must register online to attend) & Graduation Day after all live classes have been taught!
Future Teachers:
Assignments must be completed before a student can graduate with your class on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024.
All successful graduates will receive a VPS certificate for their level of achievement, which can be used to teach at other studios or giving you the knowledge and ability to teach safely on your own.
Internal Graduates that want to work at VPS will be listed as a sub pole instructor in our studio. While completing the Vertical Pole Studio Training Program, does not guarantee you a job at Vertical Pole Studio, we do hire exclusively from this program.
Training Details:
Our Level 1 Teacher Training is where everyone begins. Successfully completing the Level 1 instructor training course will certify you to teach our signature 4-week Intro to Pole & Beginner Tech Series, beginner pole and choreography classes, and will provide you with the skills needed to teach Level 1 students.
In this training you will learn there is so much more to being a great Pole Instructor than simply teaching pole moves. Learn how to create and organize a class lesson plan, how to teach and demonstrate proper posture and grips for spins, floorwork, transitions, basic climbs, and holds. You will learn basic spotting techniques appropriate for this level, effective ways to communicate, and the important standards for teaching safe level 1 pole moves. You will also learn stability, strength and mobility exercises, and how to verbally cue movement.
Additional topics include the history of pole movement, muscle injury, basic anatomy and injury prevention, classroom and teaching tips, how to lead effective warm ups and cool downs, music and playlists, instructor role, teaching methods, how to handle accidents, emergencies and so much more.
Material needed:
*The VPS Manual for Level 1 is included with this training.
*Required book *sold separately* for the level 1 pole instructor course. You will receive an email of the book required after you register for training. Available in digital or a hard copy.
*Notebook, pencil, water, snacks and pole grip if needed.
What to wear: shorts under your leggings or joggers, sports bra, tank top, or your personal pole wear. Bring your knee pads, you are welcome to bring your heels but heels are not required.
