Let’s Talk: Supporting Healthy Use of Media and Technology for Your Child

An Interactive Evening for Parents of Middle & High School Students

Does managing your child’s screen time feel like an uphill battle? You aren’t alone. Join us for a community-centered evening designed to turn tech-stress into a clear plan of action. This event is specifically tailored to the unique challenges of raising middle and high school students in an always-connected world.

Why Attend?

This isn't just another lecture. It’s an interactive space where we bridge the gap between "digital natives" and the adults raising them. You will walk away with:

  • Data-Backed Insights: Learn what the latest research says about healthy brain development and digital habits from Andrea Olson, BSD Technology Integration Specialist.
  • Emotional & Social Support: Connect with Amanda Moore and Sharon Moran, clinical experts from the Howard Center, to navigate the social-emotional side of online exposure.
  • Real Solutions: Participate in small group discussions to swap stories with other parents and get hands-on support for setting boundaries that actually work for your family.

What to Expect

We have designed the evening in three parts so you can join us for the full experience or drop in for the sections that matter most to you:

  • 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM | Dinner & Connection Start the evening with dinner on us while you connect with fellow caregivers in a relaxed setting.
  • 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM | Presentations, Q&A, & Discussion Hear from our panel of local experts, ask your burning questions, and join small group breakouts to share practical strategies with other parents.
  • 7:30 PM – 8:00 PM | Hands-On Tech Support Bring your devices (cell phones, iPads, Chromebooks, or laptops) and your questions. Our specialists will provide 1-on-1 support for privacy settings, parental controls, and more.

Community Raffle

Stick around for a chance to win raffle prizes specifically curated to help increase connection and quality time with your teens!

Join us to gain the tools, confidence, and community support you need to help your child thrive in a digital age.
