Who doesn’t love a cool, lush, green botanical garden on a hot summer’s day? Then let’s sketch two of them! Pack yourself a picnic lunch and join us for one or both places as your schedule allows!
We will begin at a hidden gem - Kent/MSU Extension ’Grand Ideas Garden’ 10 am - 12 pm. You won’t want to miss this treasure. Remember to bring necessary accessories like a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, and a stool or chair.

Then we’ll break for a picnic lunch on the grounds sitting at tables and/or benches scattered around the gardens. (Bring your own food/drink because none will be provided. It is not a potluck picnic.)
After we have rested and are refreshed, we will drive the 3 miles to the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park to sketch from 1 pm - 3 pm (and stay longer if you wish).

There is so much to see and sketch both inside or out. There is an admission fee for this location:
Adults - $20
Seniors (65+) - $15
Students (with ID) - $15
Children (3-13) - $10

Please check back to Facebook for updates, because in case of rainy wet conditions, we may skip the outdoor Grand Ideas Garden and begin sketching indoor at F M Sculpture Park. We will have to be flexible with plans due to weather conditions.
