On Saturday, February 22nd, there will be a fundraiser for Pascal, the grandson of Sheila and Calvin Hamada at Hopkins Elks Lodge #2221. Pascal was welcomed into the world
on August 1st, 2024.
Pascal was diagnosed with PHACE syndrome with a facial hemangioma birthmark and malformed carotid arteries. He is at a high risk of stroke as his carotid arteries are narrowed and may not allow enough blood supply to his brain. He is scheduled for an MRI and MRA on January 8th to determine the blood pathing, volume, and timing to his brain. The results of this will inform his doctors about his stroke risk and if medicine or surgery is appropriate.
PHACE syndrome is an association between large facial birthmarks and developmental defects of the eyes, heart, major arteries, and brain. PHACE stands for posterior fossa anomalies, hemangioma, arterial anomalies, cardiac anomalies, and eye anomalies. The cause of PHACE syndrome is unknown.
ALL FUNDS raised will help this family with continued medical expenses. There will be a fabulous silent auction, fantastic raffles, a cork pull, a delicious spaghetti dinner and so much more!
If you cannot join us on February 22nd at Hopkins Elks but would like to donate - please let Sheila or one of the bartenders here know.
There will be many updates for this event in the weeks to come. We’d love it if you all can join us for this family fundraiser. Please share it far and wide.
