Mahjong is taking Minnesota by storm—and for good reason. This timeless game is equal parts strategy, mental exercise, and social fun, making it the perfect way to connect with others and beat the winter blues.
Join us in the Bachman’s Heritage Room for a welcoming, beginner-friendly Mahjong class designed to make learning easy and enjoyable. While the game has many rules, our expert instructor breaks everything down step by step in a relaxed, no-pressure style. All supplies are provided, so you can simply show up, settle in, and start learning.
Come with three friends to learn together at your own table, or arrive solo and make new connections as you play—either way, you’ll leave with new skills, new friendships, and a fresh appreciation for this classic game.
As a special thank-you, each participant will take home a 4" Bachman’s blooming plant.
And if you’re looking for more ways to brighten the season, all Bachman’s locations are filled with cures for the winter blues—from green plants and blooming color to games (yes, including Mahjong!), puzzles, and creative activities that bring joy, connection, and a little mental escape all winter long.
Meet Your Instructor: Lisa-Marie
Lisa-Marie has been teaching new hobbies and skills to students across the Twin Cities for more than 25 years. Her wide-ranging experience includes adult classes in cooking, quilting, and cake decorating, as well as STEM and creative classes for kids. She now brings that same enthusiasm and expertise to her newest passion—Mahjong.
Known for her relaxed, engaging teaching style, Lisa-Marie believes there’s no such thing as a dumb question—just curious learners. She lives in Maple Grove with her husband, three almost-grown sons, and a lovable (and slightly crazy) doodle.
