We have found a new date for our Austrian-Taipei Society hiking day ⛰️👏This time, we will be doing the following hike: Beikeng FuRen Trail in Yangmei (大北坑, 福人步道)
When?
Sunday Nov 24 - We will take local train to Beihu, leaving Taipei Main Station at 7:48am. We are meeting directly at the platform at 7:30am.
Who?
We are welcoming everyone and we also speak English 😃
It’s gonna be an easy hike, suitable for kids who can walk independently.
Requirements 🕶️🧴
1.5 l water, change of T-shirt, mosquito and sun protection, it can already get a bit chilly, so we also recommend bringing a sweater or jacket
What?
This is what you can expect 👇
We’ll kick off the day at 7:48 AM at Taipei Main Station - with arrival in Yangmei at 8:55 AM. From there, we’ll take a quick 10-minute transfer by private car or taxi to the starting point (approx. 120 NTD).
At 9:15 AM, the adventure begins! We’ll start our hike through a lush forest, pass by old fortifications, enjoy valley views, and even see an old shooting range. It’s an easy hike, perfect for everyone.
Around 11:30 AM, we’ll arrive at our destination and enjoy a delicious Hakka-style lunch (approx. 300 NTD per person).
After lunch, at 12:30 PM, we’ll take a stroll through the picturesque village of Beikeng, explore tea fields, and visit historic old houses.
At 1:30 PM, we’ll begin our return journey, with a 3:00 PM arrival and transfer back to the train.
We will have a guide - Claudius Petzold will take care of guiding us through this historical area. We are looking forward for a great Sunday with you. ☀️
