About the film:
Santiago, an 8th grader from Mexico meets the girl of his dreams in his English class and agrees to help her confront her absentee father, but he shows her more. Like how to let go of her father in the same way he had to let go of his home in Mexico. Also, he shows his true feelings for her by skateboarding across town to find her when depression and the expectations of her mother have brought her into a dangerous mental health crisis.
