Welcome to spend the day in the Nuuksio Nationalpark in Espoo on Saturday the 29th of June!
We will meet at 9.30AM on Kattilantie 426. It is the last bus stop on the bus route 245A and the bus stop is called Kattila.
The bus 245A leaves from Espoon asema (Espoo station/center), laituri (platform) 32.
There is a train-bus connection from Helsinki to Espoo station. Take U-train from Helsinki Central Railway station to Espoon Keskus, where transfer to bus number 245A platform 32. Bus arrives in Kattila, last stop at the end of line. Check timetable with “reittiopas.fi” the Route planner with HSL.
You can also come by your own car, there is a parking lot.
We will have a professional guide with us on the trip.
THE PROGRAM FOR THE DAY TRIP:
1. Checking route and maps (provided).
Some simple exercise to warm you up.
2. Checking gear, water, food. (Bring you own!)
3. Principles on hiking in National Parks on your own and hiking etiquette in general.
4. Route to Camp Fire approx. 3,5 kilometres (slow walking).
THE ROUTE:
-The route is about 3,5 kilometers, from Kattila via Takala Shelter to Pikku-Parikka, with campfire.
-We will walk slowly. Walk uphill and downhill, over fallen woods, roots, and stones.
-This is a very nice and beautiful walk in the forest.
-The Route is marked.
-Don’t bring strollers!
5. ARRIVAL AT PIKKU-PARIKKA
Outdoor Dry Toilet available,” puucee”.
6. Camp Fire and lunch (bring your own) + Black Pot Coffee, on the house.
7. Guided return to Kattila Parking and Bus Stop starting at 15:00 from Pikku-Parikka

Bring a tent and a sleeping bag and mattress. And food and water!

7. Putting up your tent for the night if you stay the night.
8. Dinner cooked on open fire (bring your own dinner).
9. If weather is fine you can swim in the lake or take a walk in the surroundings.
10. Sleep in your tent and listen to Nature.
11. Wake up the 30th of June with the Sun (or later).
12. Cook your own breakfast over open fire or your camp stove/type Trangia.
13. At 10:30 the 30th of June will start walking back to Kattila Car Park and Bus Stop.
BRING ALONG:
-A pair of waterproof shoes, or wellingtons if it has been raining.
-Clothing suitable for ”Weather of the Day”.
-Water to drink! Soft drink/juice for the children, and yourselves.
-Food; ready-made sandwiches, campfire sausages or noodle food, anything of your own choice.
-A cattle, saucepan, aluminium foil, or sausage fork if you want to use the open fire.
-Tent and gear enabling you to stay the night.

Some of us are Advanced Hikers.

We will mix well together and share our knowledge.
