About this Event
Everyone loves the tactile feel and antique look of letterpress, a form of printing that uses metal and wood, that changed the world 500 years ago. With this fun Experience, you get to visit a real working letterpress studio, pull from our extensive collection of blocks and cuts -- engraved and etched images designed for letterpress printing -- and create flat cards, foldover cards and keepsake prints on a variety of colored cardstocks and papers! We've been sourcing and collecting blocks and cuts for over six years now, and we have images for any interest: cinder blocks, MidMod furniture, space aliens, playing elephants, hand tools, business jets and floral bouquets. We're pretty sure you can find something fun, pretty, silly -- or just outrageous -- to put on your printed piece. Everyone gets to print, and everyone gets to take home something. Trading is encouraged! This experience is great for a date idea, friend date or a fun way to spend time with a loved ones! Other things to note: This is a hands-on experience, and letterpress printing is a technical trade that takes some physical involvement. Your hand-made item will, indeed, be hand-made by you!
