Let’s Talk Research Conference 2020 is looking to the future, laying out the foundations for the methods and practices for NHS researchers. This jam-packed day will deliver a programme of creative content and speakers to stretch the imagination of attendees, giving inspiration and support on how to challenge the barriers of communicating research in innovative ways.  Challenging you to do things differently in an environment where research truly matters!

Our Venue
The Monastery, Gorton, is a part of the long history of monastic medicine and the Franciscan focus on giving care to the poor. The mix of breathtaking Gothic architecture and modern renovations reminds us that the present is built on deep foundations and strong traditions and invites us to take a long view of the future of research and innovation in healthcare.

Prof Soo Downe, Professor in Midwifery Studies, UcLan
Professor Soo Downe is Professor in Midwifery Studies at the University of Central Lancaster and featured in our first Wonder Women Film Series.
Prof Dave Jones, Dean, NIHR Academy
Professor Dave Jones is responsible for assisting NIHR and universities in the leadership training and career management of all trainees funded through NIHR Integrated Academic Training Schemes and NIHR Personal Awards Schemes
Dr Justin Jagosh, Director, Centre for Advancement in Realist Evaluation & Synthesis, University of Liverpool
Justin is an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Liverpool and Director for the Centre for Advancement in Realist Evaluation and Synthesis – CARES.  He is an advisor on numerous research contracts involving realist methodology and delivers training workshops in the UK and Internationally, including an annual CARES Summer School.
(as Justin is based in Canada his keynote will be done by live feed – something not to be missed!)

Please note, as well as key note speakers, the packed day will consist of creative workshops, research poster presentations and 'Research Has Got Talent', an opportunity for researchers to share their work in a whistle-stop fashion!

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a conference dinner on the evening of 23rd September 2020 at The Monastery. Why not join us to continue the conversation with colleagues and new contacts?
Guests will enjoy a three course dinner in this stunning setting, we will also be joined by a guest speaker. Numbers are limited, so please do sign up as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Dinner places can only be booked with a conference place. The early-bird conference and dinner ticket is available for £125 + VAT.  (Please note that this rate is significantly discounted from the standard rate of £150 + VAT for the conference and £40 + VAT, these rates will apply after 30 June 2020.)
