About this Event
Join us for a day of in-person grief education and community building! Hear from leading grief educators to gain wisdom, insights, and actionable strategies for cultivating a more compassionate and grief literate world. This day-long gathering will feature talks from three different experts in the grief space, followed by audience-led Q&As and somatic-based break-out activities to process and integrate what has been shared. Afterwards, stick around for a special wine and cheese reception to connect and be in community with one another. We hope to see you there!

ALICA FORNERET
(she/her) is an educator, speaker, and consultant dedicated to creating new spaces for people to explore grief and grieving. She is the Founder and Executive Director of PAUSE, a nonprofit focused on supporting Communities of Color through grief and end of life. Alica's writing and work about grief, work, and race have been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Psychology Today, Huffington Post, GQ, and more.
DR. JULIE SHAW
(she/her) is a certified grief educator, grief coach, group facilitator, speaker and experienced griever. Dr. Shaw committed herself to building an educational and supportive community of grievers as she found herself navigating her own grief after the death of her sister, Jennifer in 2020 and her struggles with infertility. Understanding that we heal in community, she founded , an educational and community driven platform that allows people navigating grief to learn about, share, and navigate their grief alongside family, peers and experts.
