Let’s Talk is a support program that connects students with an experienced counselor. No prior appointment is necessary. Brief, confidential consultations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to all currently enrolled students.
The consulting counselor will listen closely to your concerns and may provide support, perspective, and suggestions for resources as needed.
Common concerns that students may want to talk to a counselor about during Let’s Talk:
• Stress management
• Worry or anxiety
• Difficulties in school
• Family problems
• Relationship concerns
• Life balance
• Homesickness or adjustment to college
• Cultural concerns
• Identity exploration
• Social isolation
• Concerned about a friend
Let's Talk is NOT a substitute for regular therapy, counseling, or psychiatric care. Registration encouraged, but not required.
If you are experiencing an emergency contact the Center for Counseling and Student Development at 252-328-6661 or call 911.
Let’s Talk is confidential with a few exceptions. Counselor may need to share information if there is an immediate threat of harm to self or others. They are also required by law to report if a minor, older adult, or someone incapacitated is being neglected or abused. They must also respond to court-ordered requests for information.
