Let’s Learn Stained GlassInstructor: Marc Rotman
Sunday, May 4 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Ages 12+
Join us in our Mother’s Day themed class that’s all about making something special, together. In this fun, hands-on class, you and your mom (or parent) will team up to create your very own stained glass piece using the copper foil technique. No worries if you’ve never done this before, all you need is a big smile and a little curiosity! We’ve got everything covered: variety of colored glass, fun patterns to pick from, and all the tools you’ll need. We’ll show you how to “cut” the glass (don’t worry, it’s safe and easy!), wrap it with copper foil, and solder it together like pros. In just 3 hours, you’ll have an awesome piece of art to take home—a perfect Mother’s Day memory made by you and your mom (or parent)!
This class is open to individuals or family units. If registering a child between the ages of 12-15, a registered parent/guardian must also attend the class.
Skill level: Beginner
Member Rate: $75
Non-Member Rate: $90
Material Fee: $18 (paid directly to instructor)

About the Instructor:
Marc Rotman has worked in the medium of Stained Glass, utilizing both the copper foil and lead techniques for over 28 years. Marc regularly integrates repurposed and recycled items into his original works as they bring inspiration, surprise, and a little fun into each composition. Marc enjoys working with unconventional elements, finding them both inspirational and challenging at the same time. Marc has exhibited at the Fountain City Library, The Emporium, the Big Ears Festival and the Rossini Festival, along with numerous “Makers Markets” within the East TN region. Marc also teaches stained glass in his home studio as well as in other Art Centers around the region. Marc also enjoys his association with the Arts and Culture Alliance and The Maker City organizations.
