Description: Embark on an imaginative journey as we go holo holo—cruising to discover vibrant cultures both here in Hawaiʻi and around the world. Inspired by Hōkūleʻa’s worldwide voyage and its guiding value of mālama honua (to care for our Island Earth), this 12-week art program invites students to explore connections between self, family, community, and global cultures through creativity.Using the elements of art and the power of storytelling, students will engage in hands-on experiences across the Donkey Mill Art Center’s diverse studios—ceramics, printmaking, and fibers. Together with our teaching artists, young explorers will deepen their understanding of place, identity, and the shared responsibility we have to care for one another and our planet.
