On May 31st, CUE will host a screening of the documentary Let the Little Light Shine following the story of everyday parents-turned-organizers alongside National Teachers' Academy students and staff as they advocate to keep their elementary school.
As a member of the CUE family, you also know the story of NTA as the origin story of CUE. CUE launched Chicago's first public Racial Equity Impact Assessment, bringing together over 350 residents to assess the burdens and benefits of the proposed school closure by reviewing data, sharing historical narratives, and creating alternative high school options in the fight for NTA.
After we watch the documentary, there will be a panel discussion with prominent leaders in the story of NTA including Elisabeth Greer (CUE Co-Founder and NTA Parent Organizer), Audrey Johnson (NTA Parent Organizer) and Kevin Shaw (Director/Creator of Let the Little Light Shine).
Dinner and refreshments will be served.

There is limited street parking available . Public transportation is recommended - specifically the Washington/Wabash brown, orange, green, pink and purple line and Metra service to Millennium Station. Grant Park North and Grant Park South are nearby parking garages for about $16.
Our office is on the 4th floor - accessible by elevator.
