About this Event
Let’s Write It with Marcel Stewart, Sponsored by Greenbelt Coffee
November 23 | 10:00AM-12:30PM
Let’s Write It invites you to take a seat at the table—literally. This long-table workshop is part writing circle, part public experiment, and all about process. Led by theatre artist and facilitator Marcel Stewart, the session brings together a small group of writers who will share live prompts, exchange words in real time, and open the table for audience members to join, listen, or contribute their own lines.
Whether you’re a writer, an observer, or simply curious about how ideas take shape, this is a space to play with language, explore unfinished thoughts, and rediscover the joy of writing in community.
A live collaborative writing experiment. Join a long table workshop where writers and audience members share space, prompts, and process. We’ll write, talk, and reimagine what it means to create together.
This workshop is FREE. Please register to attend.

ABOUT MARCEL STEWART
Marcel Stewart (he/him) is a father, award-winning theatre maker, director, writer, educator, and arts administrator. He is the Director of Artistic Outreach for SpiderWebShow Performance, and together with Adrienne Wong and Michael Wheeler, he curates FOLDA, an annual festival of live digital art in Kingston, ON.
As an artist, Marcel has worked with theatre companies nationwide and internationally. In his work, Marcel investigates telling stories that connect artists and audiences to a cultural and ancestral past, while also imagining a future without borders or boundaries. Marcel is passionate about crafting narratives that focus on joy as a form of resistance against the prevailing colonial narratives that have shaped the Black Canadian experience. He uses digital technologies to expand this work's reach, bringing collaborators in remotely and taking the work out to a wider public. He’s interested in finding non-traditional ways to build community through performances and storytelling that are interactive and welcoming.
When Marcel is not creating theatre, he is an arts educator who has facilitated programming for community youth groups, professional actors, and students in university, high school, and elementary. He has taught classes at the National Theatre School of Canada, Brock University, and Sheridan College. His major project, Windrush, is a story that platforms binaural sound and poetry to explore Black masculinity, Caribbean folklore, grief, and home.
