ARTISTS FOR CAP ANAMUR PRESENTS:Lesung: "Notes from a little Black Girl"�plus Konzert mit JP Lewis & Robin Shepherd.

Lesung aus dem Insta-Blog @notesfromalittleblackgirl. Beamlak kam vor sieben Jahren, im Alter von 17 Jahren, aus Äthiopien nach Deutschland. In ihren Texten beschreibt Sie in kurzen Prosa Episoden das Leben in ihrer neuen Heimat Düsseldorf:
"I´m a little black girl (literally I’m 5 feet tall on a good day) who moved from Ethiopia to Germany at 17. I’m 7 Years deep into this „new life“ and honestly? Still figuring out. I didn’t come here to tell you how to survive immigration, or explain racism, or give you a step-by-step on how to start over in a country that sometimes forgets you exist. I’m just here to talk. About what it’s been like. For me. I’ll write about the weird stuff. The frustrating stuff. The beautiful moments too. Like what it means to build a life when home is a moving target. Or how music, random bus rides, and books like Americanah have held me together more times than i can count."
Dazu spielen die beiden Kölner Singer-Songwriter JP Lewis und Robin Shepherd Songs aus ihrem Repertoire. Inspiriert von musikalischen Vorbildern wie Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Pharrell Williams und Curtis Mayfield präsentiert JP Lewis einen modernen Mix aus Indie-Rock gepaart mit Elementen des 70s Soul und Funk. Robin Shepherd verbindet als Singer/Songwriter eingängige Folk-Melodien mit harmonischem Akustikgitarrenspiel, kraftvoll-beseeltem Gesang und Texten, die nach innen blicken lassen.�
Die Lesung findet in englischer Sprache statt, der Eintritt ist frei – wir bitten um Spenden für Cap Anamur / Deutsche Not-Ärzte e.V.
