As some of you know, I've recently started to focus on the regions "new dancer" problem. Specifically, we ain't got none. Since the Swinging Bulls disbanded during the COVID lockdowns, we've largely lost college-age people discovering the scene. To that end, I'm a professor at SPC in Seminole. I've been talking to our staff that put together student events with the goal of introducing our students to Swing dance (with the hope that they'll form a club at SPC or even at USF as many of our students head there next). So, I have the opportunity to put together a demo/class on Monday Nov. 10th from about noon-1. I understand middle of a weekday, but if anyone is interested in joining me it would be amazing.
Essentially, we'd (I'd) do a ~15 min into lesson for students. Then about 15 minutes of dancing (us showing off), and then ~15 minutes where we'd all break out and work in smaller groups with anyone interested. I'll likely continue hanging out, playing music until the event ends at 2
LMK if you might be interested in joining
