Producer/Director, Musician, Author, Keynote Speaker
Credited as the inventor and godfather of “Survival TV”, Survivorman Les Stroud is a multi-award-winning film producer, an author of four best-selling books and a celebrated singer-songwriter and musician. Along with a record number of Canadian Screen Award nominations and wins, his children's book Wild Outside won four national awards and in 2022 he was named Canada’s Chief Scout. His film productions Survivorman, Wild Harvest, Beyond Survival and Survivorman Bigfoot air around the globe.
From a canoe on a remote lake, to shelters in the woods, to recording studios in LA ,the artist (formerly known as TV’s Survivorman) Les Stroud now seeks to reconnect you to nature through his inspiring and captivating musical musings.
As a young man, Les Stroud took thousands of people out into the wilderness on adventures. He taught them outdoor skills such as camping and whitewater canoeing. He taught them survival skills. And in doing so, he intimately influenced people to reconnect with nature.
Les went global when he created an entirely new genre of Television; Survival TV with his seminal series; Survivorman. Millions of people around the world had access to Stroud’s creativity on screen and were compelled to return to nature and reconnect with the natural world.
In authoring 7 books Survivorman himself put on page the pathways for thousands more, to go outside exploring and adventuring.
Now Les Stroud continues his legacy of connecting people to the natural world, with his music. Composing since the age of 14 Stroud has scored his own films, recorded seven albums, shared the stage with rock stars and performed his own concerts to standing ovations.
