Based on the Victor Hugo novel of the same name, Les Miserables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a man reclaiming his life in 1815 after 19 years of wrongful imprisonment. He violates his parole to fully start anew, and police inspector Javert makes it his life’s mission to bring Jean Valjean to justice. The story jumps to the June Rebellion of 1832, and our main players are swept up into the action; Javert believes he can finally capture Jean Valjean. Will Jean Valjean evade Javert? Will the rebellion against the monarchy succeed? This sweeping historical epic is one of the longest running shows on Broadway and continues to captivate audiences around the world.
