Join Docks Oyster Bar and Les Dames New York on National Lobster Day for a unique lobster experience. A four-course Lobster Dinner Menu will be presented by Executive Chef Freda, with a special wine pairing courtesy of Kobrand. Lobster provided by local seafood purveyor, Aquabest NYC. Dame Michael-Ann Rowe and her mentor, Dr. Bob Bayer, will share lobster growth, history, facts and innovation.

  • Main: ½ Grilled Lobster served with Lobster Mashed Potato

MICHAEL-ANN ROWE

Michael-Ann Rowe is an Emmy Award-winning food & travel journalist, who specializes in seafood education and seafood experiences. When it comes to food, Michael-Ann teaches where the food comes from with a focus on traceability and sustainability.

She created the Lobster MasterClass with her mentor, Dr. Bob Bayer, and the All-Canadian Oyster Festival, NYC.

Michael-Ann is the owner of Off the Beaten Palate Productions and founder of two other brands, Put Your Best Fish Forward and the Fishionista® .

Michael-Ann is a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier, NYC, the Lobster Council of Canada, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, Slow Food, NYC, Trustee of the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association, NYC, and Ambassador of Seafood Nutrition Partnership.

DR. BOB BAYER

‘Dr. Bob’ is an active food scientist who specializes in lobster; lobster bait and development of products from lobster hymocyanin as well as other by-products from lobster.  
Bob Bayer was the Executive Director of the Lobster Institute of Maine for over almost 20 years, and is the founder and Academic Dean of the Lobster Academy based at Huntsman Marine Lab, St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada, where he teaches lobster biology and sustainability. 

Dr. Bob has also developed U.S. patents, and believes that lobster hemocyanin could be developed into a treatment for COVID.

He co-hosts Lobster MasterClasses with his former student, Michael-Ann Rowe.

The professor and the Fishionista® are currently working on a lobster book that will cover, lobster lure, history, fun facts, profiles of women and men at sea, and lobster recipes!

CHEF FREDA SUGARMAN

Chef Freda Sugarman is the executive director for Docks Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill, Sarabeths and Jane restaurants.
