Saxophonist Leon Cotter returns to the Jack London Revue with a special performance centered on music from the African diaspora. Fresh off recording a new album of original compositions influenced by African musical traditions, Leon brings together a powerhouse ensemble for an intimate and deeply rhythmic night of jazz.
Leon Cotter has spent the last decade touring nationally with soul and blues favorites The California Honeydrops, while also remaining a highly sought-after presence in Portland’s jazz scene. This performance features original material from his upcoming album alongside inspired selections from artists such as Abdullah Ibrahim and Dudu Pukwana.

The Jack London Revue is an intimate jazz club located beneath the Rialto Poolroom Bar & Cafe in downtown Portland. Opened in 2017, the venue carries on Portland’s jazz tradition with a cozy room, classic atmosphere, and a deep focus on live music.
