About this Event
Leicester Cathedral is in the midst of a massive development project. Phase one of the external excavations revealed many items of archaeological and historical interest going back to the 18th century. Phase two promises even more, as the excavation goes deeper still, doubtless illuminating our understanding of local history and burial practices.
Our free 45-minute tour will be led by an expert archaeologist from the University of Leicester and supported by a Cathedral volunteer. Spaces are limited to 10 per tour so early pre-booking is essential. Participants must wear sensible footwear.
