All car collectors and enthusiasts are invited to the Lehi Historical Society’s Lehi Heritage Day Car and Bike Show on Mon., Sept. 1, from 4-6 p.m., in the east parking lot of the Lehi Legacy Center at 123 N. Center St.The first 20 cars to sign up are invited to ride in the Lehi Heritage Day Showcase Parade at 2:30 p.m., from Wines Park to the Legacy Center. These cars also have a reserved spot in the show. To register, call 801-836-2594 or 801-768-1570. Entry fee is $10 and benefits the Lehi Historical Society. The first 50 participants will receive a commemorative dash plaque. “Choice” award winners will receive a $50 gas card or gift basket from the historical society. Fan favorite car, truck and bike will receive a trophy made of cool welded-up car parts made by Ron Woolstenhulme, co-host of the event.
The Lehi Heritage Day Car and Bike Show compliments the Lehi Heritage Day celebration, which fetes Lehi’s past. This year’s theme is “Speed, Spirit and Soul: Stanley Wanlass and the Artists of Lehi.”
It is a rare and exciting treat to have Wanlass participate. He is the inventor of the Wanlass Windshield and the world’s most famous automotive artist. He will be displaying automotive paintings, sculptures and more on his career and time in Lehi.
Chick-fil-A meals will be on sale in the North Gym along with the displays of Wanlass and the other artists.
Lehi Heritage Day is put on by the Lehi Historical Society and sponsored by Lehi City. All proceeds from the car show benefit the Lehi Historical Society, which strives to collect, preserve, protect and share Lehi’s history.
