About this Event
This in-person session at the State House will provide an opportunity for students, educators and others to engage with legislators and their staff members to make the case for continued investment by the state in civic education. Panelists will include students and teachers from schools that have benefitted from the Civics Teaching and Learning Grants. The panel will also discuss legislative advocacy and the role of the legislative process in supporting civics education. Many panelists are still to be finalized, but Senator Becca Rausch, a long time champion for civic education, will speak. Other speakers will include legislators and/or legislative staff, educators who have advocated for civics learning in the legislative process, student activists, and more.
