About this Event
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Phoenix Metropolitan Chapter Presents
Legends 2024 - Our Crowning Glory: A Celebration of Timeless Style and Resilience
Please join the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Phoenix Metropolitan Chapter as we host this year’s Legends 2024 fundraising event honoring the contributions of Black women in the areas of Health, Education, Economic Empowerment, Civic Engagement and Strategic Alliance.
In addition to honoring Black women and their contributions to community, we are also celebrating our crowns. Black women use their hair as a personal expression of who they are and to show the evolution of Black culture over time. This expression of our self-identity has not been without controversy. Legends 2024 will celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of Black hair and also champion statewide protections to ensure that Black women and girls can freely embrace this form of self-identity and self expression without concern for reprisal or discrimination at work or at school.
Our National Civic Engagement Honoree this year is Erika Alexander, actress, trailblazing activist, entrepreneur, creator, producer, director and one of the country’s boldest, most daring, and powerful voices. Erika has worn her crown with style, grace, and distinction for decades. We are thrilled to be honoring this Legend and her body of work at Legends 2024.
