Legendary Wednesday Night Jam Session of Music & Poetry

These FB Event pages are weird. Things begin around 7:30 - 8pm.
What is a "Jam Session" you might ask ? I believe most folks in the UK and Ireland, and even in the U.S. know what they are, but I don't want to assume.
Perhaps you've heard of a bar or cafe hosting an Open Mic ? A jam session is sort of like that, only without the formality of folks taking turns sharing their talents one at a time.
A Jam is a bunch of musicians of all skill levels, sitting around swapping songs and tunes. And its main purpose is to build community and lift spirits.
Our jams are held in what we call a no judgement zone, all skill levels are invited to share. So whether you strum or pick a guitar, mandolin, or bouzouki, you bow a fiddle, or tickle the keys on a melodian, all acoustic instruments are welcomed.
If you don't play an instrument, but love to sing, either leading songs, or like me, being the Milli Vanilli of jam singing, come on over !
Do you sing in English ? Terrific ! How about Portuguese ? Great ! How about a romantic song in French ?
Do you have some poetry to share ? That's welcome too. The very first jam had a Portuguese woman read a Rumi poem in English, a woman visiting from Hungry read a poem in her language, and the daughter of a Czech family that popped in off the streets read a poem in her language, while her brother borrowed the house guitar and played some Rock Classics.
You don't sing, play, or read poetry !?
No problem, there's plenty of room to just listen, and sing under your breath.
The Legendary Cafe is very convenient, located a block away from the Sintra train station, just on the edge of the Old Sintra part of town. It's a twenty minute drive from Cascais, or 8 - 12 Euro Uber ride.
Yes, the old poster says we start at 7pm, but this is Portugal ! Sure, if plenty of people were there at 7pm, we might start, but it's more like 8pm. And we are redoing the posters soon.
