About this Event
This fun, interactive, hands-on 3-week gardening course is designed to unite people, boost mental well-being, and transform our community green spaces.
- Learn gardening basics and how it can improve your mental health.
- Get your hands dirty planting flowers, bushes, and trees to brighten our neighbourhood.
- Craft creative wildlife projects like birdhouses and bee hotels to take home.
What to expect:
Week 1: Introduction to Gardening and Wellbeing
Sunday 9th February, 12-3 pm
Learn how gardening supports mental health and get tips on maintaining plants in small spaces or indoors.
Week 2: Community Planting
Sunday 16th February, 12 - 3 pm
Help plant up the raised beds and hanging baskets. Together, we will add colour and lie to Newtown!
Week 3: Supporting Wildlife & Sustaining the Impact
Sunday 23rd February 2023, 12 - 3 pm
Build habitats like birdhouses and bee hotels while learning about composting and how to keep green spaces thriving at home.
Everyone is welcome - all abilities and ages! (Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.)
It is free to attend, but spaces are limited so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
