“Legacy Lecture Series” We are honored to have as our first presenter Shane Smeed, President of Utah Tech University. President Smeed has over 25 years of experience in higher education leadership. A Utah native, he returned to his home state in 2025 to lead Utah Tech, where he is committed to engaging with students, faculty, staff, and community partners. He is currently preparing to launch a new strategic planning process and has emphasized collaboration and open leadership across campus.
