About this Event
Legacy in the Library is a new annual series at the National Library of Ireland. It will pay tribute to a selection of significant Irish literary figures who have died in the preceding year.
The inaugural event on February 4th, 2025, will mark the death of Edna O’Brien, and examine her life and writings. On the night, memories of their mother will be shared by her two sons, Carlo and Sasha Gébler. This event will also include contributions from the Director of the National Library of Ireland, Dr Audrey Whitty, and Dr Sinéad McCoole, Head of Exhibitions, Learning and Programming.
The NLI’s Edna O’Brien holdings will form a central part of the evening.
Please note that this event will be filmed. The event will be held in the Art Room in the National Library. A reception will take place at 6:30pm, followed by the event at 7pm and proceedings drawing to a close at 8pm.
