For the fourth year in a row, the Eugene Parks Foundation proudly honors those who have made a lasting impact on the landscape of Eugene’s parks and recreation. This year, the Foundation is taking a special step — recognizing not just an individual, but an entire organization whose dedication to outdoor spaces and community well-being has inspired generations: The Obsidians.
As Eugene’s largest and most passionate park-loving group, The Obsidians have not only enriched their own lives through adventure and stewardship but have also strengthened the entire community through their enduring commitment to nature, recreation, and public service.
The award ceremony will follow a captivating presentation by Ben Helphand, titled “A Sense of Discovery: From Elevated Trails to Hot Lava Paths in Chicago.”
