We are delighted to welcome Sandi Toksvig OBE as our speaker for Wolfson's prestigious Lee Lecture this year.
About this Event

Wikipedia is the largest collection of knowledge in humanity's history, yet only 17-20% of it is about women.

Working on a new Mappa Mundi project - a digital resource documenting women’s position, achievements and struggles across the globe - Sandi Toksvig is looking at how this has happened and presents a revolutionary plan to change things.

The talk will be introduced by Wolfson President, Professor Jane Clarke.

Speaker

Sandi Toksvig is a Danish-British writer, comedian and broadcaster on British radio, stage and television. She is also a political activist, having co-founded the Women's Equality Party in 2015.

As a Cambridge alumna, Sandi has returned to the University this year after being awarded the first Qantabrigian Q+ Fellowship by the LGBTQ+ research programme, which is based in the Department of Sociology. During her Fellowship, Sandi will be developing the Mappa Mundi project in partnership with Women of the World (WOW), of which she was a founding committee member, and Wikipedia.

Alongside her Qantabrigian Q+ Fellowship, Sandi has also been elected to a Bye-Fellowship at Christ's College for the 2023-2024 academic year.
