📚 Lecture: “James Bond: The True Story of the Real Spy Who Created 007”

🎤 Speaker: Author, Corey Sandler

For your eyes only, join us for a deep dive into the fictional world of James Bond and the real-life story of his creator, Ian Fleming. Is Fleming the suave British gentleman who fights evil villains, an imperialist tool perpetuating colonialism, or simply a reflection of male and female fantasies? Nearly 70 years after the first novel and 60 years after the first movie, why does James Bond continue to captivate our imaginations?

In this engaging lecture, we will explore Fleming's World War II exploits, the casting of Bond films, and the iconic Bond Girls and Villains. We’ll also discuss how the storylines have evolved as empires crumbled and politics shifted, revealing a more self-aware Bond with cracks in his macho shell. (A preshow of James Bond trailers and music begins fifteen minutes before the lecture.)

Corey Sandler is a best-selling author of over 200 books and a former reporter for the Associated Press, with appearances on NBC’s Today show, CNN, NPR, and the Travel Channel.

Don’t miss this opportunity to unravel the complexities of Bond with Corey Sandler!
