📚 Lecture: “College Sports: The Truth About NIL and the Changing Game”
🎤 Speaker: Professor, Dr. Maribeth Kuzmeski
College sports is evolving rapidly with the advent of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness), the transfer portal, and revenue sharing. However, beneath the sensational headlines lies the surprising reality: most student-athletes aren't reaping profits; they’re focused on building their brands.
In this eye-opening talk, Dr. Maribeth Kuzmeski will unveil the behind-the-scenes dynamics of college sports, shedding light on how students are navigating this new landscape and what it means for the future of college athletics.
Dr. Maribeth Kuzmeski is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Oklahoma State University and President of Red Zone Marketing, an award-winning consulting firm. As Chair of the Athletic Council at OSU, she helps assess the operations of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Additionally, Dr. Kuzmeski is a member of the NIL Committee with OSU Athletics and the founder of The Brand Squad, which supports student-athletes with their NIL opportunities.
Don't miss this chance to understand the changing game of college sports!
