📚 Lecture: "World’s Rarest Traditions: Bees, Soy Sauce & More"

🎤 Speaker: Eliot Stein

Join us for a captivating lecture with Eliot Stein, a senior journalist at the BBC, as he shares inspiring stories from his global travels to meet extraordinary individuals dedicated to preserving unique cultural rites at risk of disappearance.

Drawing from his new book, Custodians of Wonder, Eliot will take us to rural England, where a lone woman nurtures the ancient custom of "telling the bees." He will also introduce us to a custodian in Japan safeguarding the secret ingredient of a 700-year-old soy sauce recipe, and journey to Sweden to meet the world’s last night watchman.

Eliot Stein is the author of Custodians of Wonder: Ancient Customs, Profound Traditions, and the Last People Keeping Them Alive. His insightful writing has graced the pages of The New York Times, WIRED, The Guardian, and numerous other prestigious publications.
