🎙️ Lecture: The Case for a Constitutional Convention
👨‍🏫 Speaker: Former Prosecutor and Law Clerk, Nick Maggio
Themes: polictics · critical · analytical
After years of studying our country, its laws, and its structure—not to mention living through wave after wave of political chaos—Nick Maggio has arrived at a legal conclusion: we’re f**ked. But this isn’t the first time. When the U.S. faced similar crises in the past, we scrapped the old system and built a new government. What were the factors that led to a constitutional reset? How do they compare to today? And what would a modern constitutional convention look like? This lecture takes a deep dive into the legal and historical precedent for rewriting the rules of American democracy.
Nick Maggio is currently clerking for a federal judge in New York, where he handles complex civil litigation and drafts rulings on major legal issues. Previously, he worked as a prosecutor at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, managing felony cases. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the law review and has published articles on constitutional law and presidential immunity.
Don’t miss this chance to learn and connect in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. 🍻
