🎙️ Lecture: Fixing Politics Starts with Us: Why Our Systems Fail, and What We Can Do About It
👨‍🏫 Speaker: Professor Lindsey Cormack
🏷️ Themes: politics and government · education system
Our political systems often feel broken and dysfunctional. Drawing from insights in How to Raise a Citizen (And Why It’s Up to You to Do It), this lecture explores why our education systems around politics and government fail, how disengagement fuels dysfunction, and evidence that change is needed. Professor Cormack will also share practical steps individuals can take to make politics more functional—and even fun.
Lindsey Cormack is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Stevens Institute of Technology and the Director of the Diplomacy Lab. She is the creator of DCInbox, a digital archive of Congress-to-constituent e-newsletters, and the author of How to Raise a Citizen and Congress and U.S. Veterans: From the GI Bill to the VA Crisis. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Bloomberg Businessweek.
Don’t miss this chance to learn and connect in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. 🍻
