📚 Lecture: “A Strength-Based Approach to Mental Illness”
🎤 Speaker: Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Alec Goldstein
What do Abraham Lincoln, Nikola Tesla, Vincent Van Gogh, and Isaac Newton have in common? Each of these influential figures faced significant mental health challenges that shaped their lives and contributions to the world. In this enlightening lecture, Dr. Alec Goldstein will explore a strength-based approach to mental health, challenging conventional notions of mental illness.
Join us as we re-conceptualize what it means to be mentally “ill” and discuss how understanding these challenges can empower individuals to thrive.
Dr. Alec Goldstein is a clinical and forensic psychologist specializing in working with children and adolescents facing severe externalizing behavior disorders and high levels of suicidality and homicidality. As a professor at Rutgers University, he trains future psychologists and emphasizes evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care. His dual role as a researcher and clinician creates a unique perspective that bridges theory and practice.
Don’t miss this opportunity to rethink mental health with the insightful Dr. Goldstein!
