Lecture: Willow Creek Jasper Mine and other Geologic Field Trips
This 1pm presentation is designed for folks who enjoy rocks, minerals, fossils and petrified wood. Steve Schaps and mine owner, Larry Ridley, will begin with a discussion of the Willow Creek Jasper mine in Eagle. The Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology (IMMG) is planning field trips to the Willow Creek Jasper mine all summer, beginning in May. You’ll be able to purchases jasper that Larry is bringing from the mine. Cash or check only, no credit cards.
Steve and Barb Beatty will talk about the Shoofly Oolites, the Bruneau Fossil Reef and the Bruneau Woodpile—all outstanding field trips offered by the IMMG in fall and winter. Lots of photos!
The presentation is free for IMMG Members and children, $5 Non-members of IMMG. All Museum events offer free admission to members, and we have events scheduled almost every weekend through October. To join, see www.idahomuseum.org/membership.
