Lecture by William G. Robbins. Beginning in the late 1950s, evidence began to emerge that human activities, primarily the use of fossil fuels, created heat-trapping gases that caused global temperature to rise. By the mid 1980s, these conditions contributed to climate change that in Oregon and in other forested regions caused an increase in the size and severity of wildfire.
