The iconic Cotton Tree in the centre of Freetown, Sierra Leone, is a cherished monument to the life of that country for centuries.
About this Event

In Leaves from the Cotton Tree, the Sierra Leone Ireland Partnership (SLIP) has assembled thirty-seven essays by Irish people and Sierra Leoneans which share some of that experience spanning some seventy years.

“SLIP and its members have a fascinating story to tell,” writes the Ambassador of Ireland to Sierra Leone, Ms Claire Buckley, in the Foreword.

The book will be launched by: Salome Mbugna CEO of AkiDwA - The Migrant Women's Network Ireland.

Other speakers: Abass Kargbo Sierra Leonean TCD Economics student, Helen Fallon, Deputy Librarian, Maynooth University.
