When we are enjoying outdoor adventures, it’s important to know how to take care of ourselves and nature. The 7 Principles of Leave No Trace are a framework that both adults and kids can learn. Practicing these principles helps us minimize our impact on the outdoors whether we are hiking, camping, playing in a park or in our own backyards.This program will begin with hands-on activities in a classroom setting that teach the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace, followed by a stewardship hike in Lapham Peak. Different hiking distances will be offered so that kids of all ages can participate.
This program is designed for kids ages 7-14 but kids and adults of all ages are welcome!
Girl Scouts and Troops:
This program will help you earn your Trail Adventure Badge. We will break into age groups and activities will be tailored for Brownies, Juniors and Cadets.
Note: A Wisconsin State Park pass is required. Kids must be accompanied by a responsible adult for both the classroom activities and the hike.
