About this Event
Make a wooden core scabbard wrapped in goatskin for the Viking Knife you've made during Blacksmithing 104 or for any other knife or dagger you own. You'll have the opportunity to personalize parts of the leather using runes or carving.
In this class, you'll use poplar boards, saws, clamps, and rasps to shape a scabbard. After that, you'll wrap it in goat skin and sew it using an awl.
Dyeing is optional. If walnuts are available to harvest, we will use black walnut dye from the Hagood Mill trees.
The cost of this class is $75 + $20 due to the instructor on the day of the class. The class will be from 10 am to 4 pm. Please arrive at 9:45 am to sign waivers. There will be a 30-45 minute lunch break. Lunch is not provided.
