About this Event
There's a world of difference between seeing and observing; just because you see, doesn't mean you observe. That's why we'd like to invite you to our special event, "Learning To Observe", on May 24, at our studio in Amsterdam. Together with Professor Stefan van der Stigchel, we're delving into the why's and how's of sharp observation. Join us!
From the speaker:
During my talk, I would like to tell the audience about my research on "Learning to see".
When we look at the world, we see only one representation, ours. However, you can learn to direct your perception and thus perceive other versions of the world. To learn to observe better, an important first step is to realize that perception is subjective and that there is no universal perception. Besides a better understanding of your environment, there is another important advantage of good observation: it teaches you to unmask and thus prevent influencing your perception. Ultimately, knowledge about perception helps to create a more mutual understanding in a society with more and more fake visual information.
